MakerBot Tough

Engineered for durable 3D printed prototypes & fixtures

MakerBot Tough Filament

Tough is a material that is great for mid-stage prototypes because of its ease of use and office-friendliness. An added benefit over PLA is its durability, pliability, and machinability which makes it perfect for snap fits and assemblies.

The same properties that give MakerBot Tough filament its durability also make it ideal for machining and post-processing. Throw your printed part into the CNC or drill press; tap some threads and bolt on a steel bracket, or sand the surface down and apply paint for a finished presentation piece.

Tough is suited for a variety of applications including:

  • Functional prototyping
  • End-use parts

What are Tough’s qualities?

  • 2x the strength of ABS for high durability prototypes
  • More office-friendly than ABS
  • Highly-machineable for a wide range of post-processing techniques

What Printer can it be used on?

This material can be used on the MakerBot METHOD, Method X and MethodX CF
