A 3D printer is a major investment. You can’t afford to only use it a handful of times, and then banish it to a hidden corner of your workshop to gather dust. Many suppliers or distributors will try to sell you a printer they’ve selected off the back of a spec sheet, with little understanding of what your business actually needs. But at Tri-Tech 3D, we do things differently...
We take the time to build up a complete picture of your business, your challenges, and your goals. That way, we can recommend a solution that will deliver genuine long-term value to you. Here’s a quick run-down of our process, from the moment you enquire to the ongoing support you’ll get long after your printer’s up and running.
Our approach to every enquiry
The discovery call
First things first: we get to know you and your business. As soon as we’ve had a chance to review your enquiry, we’ll get a discovery call in the diary.
As Rob Pitts, our Sales Manager, explains: “Before trying to recommend any sort of technology or solution, we first set out to understand what your needs are and work backwards from here. This starts with a discovery call to establish what challenges you are facing on a day-to-day basis. From here, we can then set out a groundwork of what you would like to be able to accomplish and put a roadmap in place.”
The site visit
Once we’ve got a basic understanding of your situation, we’ll come and see you on site. We’ll take a look at your current processes in action and determine where your team is losing time. This is where we can identify some big wins, for example:
- A jig or fixture you’re currently outsourcing that could be printed in-house within hours
- A legacy spare part you’re overpaying for that could be reproduced by your team on demand
- A prototyping process stuck with an outside vendor that could be brought into your own workflow
The solution
We never talk printers until we’ve talked possibilities. Using the opportunities identified during your site visit, we’ll sit down with you and map out the best solution for those specific applications. Once that’s settled, we’ll start narrowing down technology (PolyJet, SAF, FDM etc.) and materials (thermoplastics, photopolymers, and metal powders). Only then will a specific machine enter the conversation.
As a Stratasys 3D printer supplier with access to a full range of additive manufacturing technologies, we’re not tied to pushing one machine over another. If a Stratasys system is genuinely the best fit, we’ll say so. But if something else suits you better, or 3D printing isn’t the right answer just yet, we’ll tell you that too. Your long-term value matters much more to us than a quick sale.
Our support doesn’t stop when the sale ends
Too many 3D printer suppliers step back once the invoice is paid. But at Tri-Tech 3D, we see that moment as the start of a long-term relationship, not the end of it. Once your order’s confirmed, we’ll get your new printer installed on-site, and make sure your team is fully trained and comfortable with using it. From there, we stay involved as long as you own the machine.
You’ll receive:
- Ongoing application advice as your needs change
- Hands-on training for your team
- Materials guidance to help you get consistent, reliable results
- 3D printer servicing and maintenance UK-wide
- Fast, easy access to our technical support team
Say your business takes on a new application six months down the line, or you start pushing the printer harder than expected. We’ll talk you through the right materials and settings for the job, so you’re always getting the best from your machine as your needs evolve. And if something needs fixing or you have a technical issue, our UK-based engineers can get to you quickly, ensuring minimal downtime on your production line.

FAQs
How do I know if 3D printing is right for my manufacturing business?
During your discovery call and site visit, we will look at your current processes, applications, and challenges. We’ll then give you an honest assessment of whether 3D printing is the right fit for your business, and where it could unlock the most value.
What’s involved in choosing the right 3D printer for manufacturing?
We’ll start by understanding the applications you need to solve – we don’t just jump straight into machines. Once we know your requirements, we’ll map out the right technology and materials. Only then will we recommend a specific printer that matches your business.
What kind of support can I expect after installation?
Our support extends well beyond installation. This includes ongoing application advice, staff training, materials guidance, and 3D printing servicing and maintenance across the UK, so that you continue to get the most from your investment.
How often should my 3D printer be serviced?
It all depends on your machine, the materials you use, and how often you use it. Our technical support team can set up a servicing schedule that’s tailored to your specific setup, helping you avoid unplanned downtime.
