ESD-capable material
PC-ESD is a polycarbonate material designed with electrostatic dissipative (ESD) properties, making it ideal for applications that require protection against static discharge.
Engineered for use in ESD-sensitive environments with higher mechanical performance demands, PC-ESD combines the strength and durability of polycarbonate with the added benefit of ESD protection.
Applications
- Highly customised handling trays for electronic components that are too complex for machining or injection moulding
- Pick and place machine components for electronic component assembly where static build up is a concern
- Fixtures or masks
- Jigs & Fixtures
What are the Qualities of PC-ESD?
- Delivers consistent ESD performance in an FDM material
- Retains Polycarbonates good chemical resistance
- Heat deflection temperature of 140 degrees celcius, making it suitable for some higher temperature applications
Where can PC-ESD be used?
Nearly all industries engage in some aspect of electronics manufacturing, and PC-ESD offers an advantageous material option for harnessing the time and cost-saving benefits of additive manufacturing in electronic component production. Its electrostatic dissipative properties make it particularly suited for creating high-performance parts while ensuring efficiency and protection in the manufacturing process.
What printer can it be used on?
PC-ESD material is currently available on the Fortus 450 and the F900 systems.
