Fused Deposition Modeling Materials (FDM)

Stratasys FDM printers create 3D models by extruding ABS filament through a small nozzle, building the model layer by layer. Material is cured inside the printer, and then the support material is either broken or dissolved away.

PC-ISO (Biocompatible)

PC-ISO (Biocompatible)

High strength material ideally suited to medical applications

PC-ISO (polycarbonate-ISO) is an industrial thermoplastic, in its raw state biocompatible to ISO 10993 USP Class VI and can be gamma or EtO sterilized. PC-ISO is commonly used on food and drug packaging and medical device manufacture.

High performance flame retardant thermoplastic

Ultem* 9085 is a flame retardant thermoplastic material for direct digital manufacturing and rapid prototyping. Is is ideal for applications within the transportation industry due to its high strength-to-weight ratio and FST (Flame, Smoke and Toxicity) rating. Ideal for applications within the automotive, marine and aerospace sectors

High heat and chemical resistance

PPSF/PPSU (polyphenylsulfone) has the highest heat resistance and chemical resistance of all Fortus materials - ideal for aerospace, automotive and medical applications. Parts printed in PPSF/PPSU are not only mechanically superior, but also dimensionally stable to better represent the performance of the end use part. Parts can also be sterilized via steam autoclave, EtO sterilization, Chemical sterilization, Plasma sterilization and radiation

Now you can build consistently high-quality parts with exceptional UV stability and with the best aesthetics of any FDM thermoplastic. ASA is a new ABS based material offering Fortus users the benefit of greater surface refinement in both Ivory White and Black materials.

Especially suited to outdoor applications and commercial use, ASA is the ideal solution for applications requiring greater UV stability. ASA has a uniform matte surface finish, producing attractive prototypes for applications such as sporting consumer goods, tools and automotive components and accessories
